growing pains & giggles...

My little Huckle must be going through a serious growth spurt at the moment. I seem to be spending a whole lot more time feeding, he's starving every two hours or so. He's also decided that daytime sleeps are over-rated & kicking & screaming are the new sleep. Thank goodness night sleeping is still in vogue, or I wouldn't have the coherency to write these words, or think, or cook dinner, or anything actually. I'd be a total zombie!
Today he gave in to the sleep fairies for a few naps. Neither of them longer than 45 minutes, but hey I'll take what I can get. He must have well & truly exhausted himself. Poor little fella, it must be hard when you're trying to be the biggest baby the world's ever seen. After a feed, he's happy as larry. All smiles & giggles. He particularly likes the game where I play with his chin. So cute.
He's such a funny little person. His favourite time to chat is on the change table. As soon as the pants are off, the chatter begins.
It's so wonderful seeing how he changes everyday, watching him find his hands & then his hands finding his mouth. The way his eyes follow us around the room & listen to our voices. It really is magical.
Now that I've had Huckle, I really understand all the fuss about babies. I mean, I knew they were cute & wonderful... but this is just something else. I'm sure I'm not alone on this.
I hope your week is lovely where you are.

Uh-huh. Now you get it. You can't explain it to someone till it happens to them, the fuss about them, that is. Give it another day or two, hindsight is the only way you know it's a growth spurt!

He is so cute!

Catnapping... sleep cycles go for about 40 to 45 minutes, then lightly waking, usually back to sleep for another 40-45 minutes. But some babies (both mine) go through phases where they wake up too much between sleep cycles, and don't go back to sleep... it can be frustrating, but just one of those things to get used to. It cana lso mean they are ready to drop one of their daysleeps, and have fewer but longer day sleeps.

Cheeky things, newborns!

Oh he is absolutely gorgeous and yes I know the magic of that too. You could just spend hours playing with them, I used to with both of mine at that age.

It is pretty special becoming a mother for the first time.
Nothing anyone could have said could have prepared us for the hard work and the wondrous times as well!!! You've just got to experience it for yourself!!
Looks like you are doing a great job Miss Kitty!!
Love the chin game (and the smile it produces .... on both of you).
Keep enjoying.
Andi :-)

Hazel and I play the chin game too! She had her 2 month jabs today, hate to see her cry :(
We are having a few sleep issues here, looking forward to turning a corner in the sleep department.
Hey did you get our parcel?
