seriously...

Is this weather for real? I mean, it's not far off november & it's acting like it's mid july! Todays maximum is forecasted for 13 degrees. Up on the hill, we'll be lucky if it gets to 11. Last night there was rain & hail & even snow above 500 metres.
All winter I told myself, "When it gets to october, it will be warm & sunny & all will be well." How very, very wrong I was. I'm so over it, my serotonin levels need sun & warmth. I can understand winter being winter, but when we're a month & a half out from summer... I'm desperate here! Next year I'm migrating north for the whole of spring.
Today is all about staying close to the raging inferno that is our fire, hanging out with the darling Huckle, soothing the soul with cup after cup of chamomile tea & perhaps doing some hausfrau duties. There'll be a bit of baking too, I think. Any excuse to put the oven on... I need all the heat I can get.

Oh, & if you're wondering what the photo is all about... I'm allergic to the cold!!! Yep I'm being very serious. I break out in itchy, itchy hives all over. Unfortunately (or fortunately for you), this picture doesn't do them justice. Antihistamines are my best friend. That may have been a bit too much information, but now you know a little bit more about me I guess.
So stay warm & dry my fellow Victorians. For the rest of you out there, I hope the sun is shining it's warm glow upon you. Jealous? You bet I am!

no need to go north, just come west. we have maybe had rain once since august and the crops are so poor that the farmers aren't even bothered to harvest. not even for hay. most of them are just letting the sheep out to eat the very meager amount there is because there isn't much else. we've already hit 35 degrees once or twice and seem to have skipped spring altogether. if it's any comfort i'm sure a lot of people here in WA are feeling just as jealous as you are! hopefully the mother nature evens herself out a bit and distributes both the warm and the wet around a bit more evenly soon!

i totally am with you. in july i was consoling myself with "just get through to august, there will be some 20º days"... nope. then i was full of hope and longing for september... um, no. but surely october will be better? again, FAIL. stupid weather, it's making me crazy.

Oh no I hope it does warm up soon for you. I couldn't believe it when I saw that there was snow down south. Today it is sunny in Qld but unless you are out of the wind it is simply freezing. You'd think it would have warmed up by now, lets hope the warm weather comes soon.

It's just as bad up our way too. We had snow flurries all morning and they are predicting frost tomorrow. I just feel for all the orchardists. Bring on some warmer weather.

I'm SOOOOoooooo over it too. Hubby and I are planning a getaway next month and I want it to be somewhere sunny and warm but not hot. I was thinking about Tassie until this cold snap (not that Tassie's really ever warm, but it's not hot either, so I'll try it out). I don't want to go more than an hour in a plane or so either.

*sigh*

Oh Kitty you poor thing!! I didn't realise you could be allergic to the heat, but I do know what you are going through as I get chilblains on my fingers really bad ( all winter) which are itchy puffy painful and incurable.
Maybe you have them?
Hope it warms up soon for your sake. xo

Amazing...allergic to the cold...I hope it fines up for you soon and those hives are a distant memory...until next winter. I get raging hayfever so this time of the year isn't fun. Antihistamines are my best friend too!
