owl-ing about on a monday night

Brown owls last night... learning to crochet. Let me just say if you want a migraine... give crochet a go! Don't get me wrong, after undoing my artistry several times & some intense guidance from Jess, I was on my way to making a square. This is my attempt below. I am now intent on practising til I'm good enough to make a whole blanket!

There was alot of socialising last night, I met a few new people... the ever so encouraging danielle, thanks for your glass half full. The lovely Evie, we are so jealous of your crochet skills. Wonderful Amanda from the Mirabel foundation, crochet is hard enough but being left handed she had to learn it back to front, aaargh. The ever so quiet Benita, who I actually met in 2003 when we did bookbinding together at RMIT, it's funny how that happens, I guess we just like the same stuff, it's nice that. And I finally got to meet the ever so talented Angela.
There was a happy birthday singing for the marvelous Brooke & lots of cake to be eaten too.

I was just asking the lady who leads our local knitting group if she can teach me crochet. I just can't get my head around anything beyond a single chain.

Yours looks like it is coming along well.

Wow your granny square looks way better than what I walked away with!

It was great to finally you, although it was too brief! Hope we get to meet again : )
