my creative space...

Very busy over here. I'm taking full advantage of the day. The sun is shining merrily, clothes have been washed & hung, bread is rising & things are being made in the studio as promised.
I'm still revelling in yesterdays oppy finds & I've decided to share the love.
12 vintage sheet fat quarters are up for grabs!
Here's the deal...
Leave a comment here, telling me what you'd make with such a delightful bunch for one entry
If you're a follower of the kaboodle, there's a second entry right there.
& if you post about it on your own blog, another ticket shall be thrown in the draw.
Hot dang!
In usual Kitty fashion, I'll also pop some other delights in the package too & I'll post it to any corner of the earth.
I'll draw a winner next thursday the 16th. Here's what I've been up to this morning.
Some quick art for Huckle's room. This vintage fabric is a bit too stained for sewing with, so I made an executive decision to hoop it. There's a few more characters to be hooped, but I'm short on hoops. I'm praying to the oppy gods for a hoopy offering.
I'm also contemplating ripping into this charming fellow with some sand paper. Then he'll be spruced up with a new lick of paint. Hopefully my artistic talents stretch to the art of wooden horse detailing. I'll let you know how I go, give me a few weeks. As longs as it gets finished before the Huckster is too big for it.
Well, I'm off to dabble some more.
If you've the time to spare, check out the goodness over here.

I have been admiring vintage sheets for quite a while now and scored my first one a few weeks ago when my mum found it for me. It reminds me of Holly Hobbie for some reason but is rather cute. I was thinking I could make a quilt of some kind for my daughter to snuggle up into when it gets cold at night, not that I have mastered making a quilt yet but I would like to try. I think your hoop pics look fantastic, what a very clever idea!

Fantastic! I've been collection pieces of vintage sheets to make a picnic blanket like the one in 'Handmade home'. Would love more sheet fabric so I can get started!

I love that hoop idea! Guess I now know what I'll be on the lookout for...

I love the idea of hooping textiles that are too damaged to sew with. They'll make gorgeous wall hangings.
If I were to win your gorgeous prize I'd be cutting them up to make dresses and skirts and tops and pants. I really would like to make a quilt but I don't think I'm there yet.
And I'm already a follower too.

I love the way the sheets have just seemingly popped out of their suitcase - they were theoretically washed, ironed and folded by a little old lady named flora before she _______ (fill in blanks with happy or sad)...

The hoops are great low impact way of showing off some lovely print. Love that you could do this en mass and have a virtual quilt on the wall!

Thanks for your post

I would add these to my collecting that I have got on the go and make them into a lovely warm handstitched quilt for my bed, for my new little country house.

Hope your enjoying your time crafting. I cant wait to have my own little workspace so I can make some things for my kids rooms too!!

Love what you've been re-purposing, the little animals look very cute in the hoops. I'm with Pen also, don't repaint the horsey!!

I would love an entry (or 2, I follow you as well) into your giveaway draw. I've been making patchwork cushion covers with vintage sheet fabric lately, can always do with some more in the stash! Speaking of which, I am actually giving away one of those cushions on my blog now, pop over and enter if you like!

Love the sheets--I have a few but not enough variety of ones I like. I'd put them toward one of the vintage sheet quilts I want to make. Also, I like the horsey the way it looks now also!

Have just discovered your blog to find you're giving away a selection of vintage fabrics. Generous lady you are. I'd probably make a picnic blanket out of them given i'm desperate for the weather to be fine enough to go on one!
Ph, and I love the rocking horse as it is. It looks loved.

Vintage fabric is such a find. I'm more of a knitter than a sewing fiend but I have been known to dust off the sewing machine now and then. I would make a quilted case for my new laptop. Or an quited box to store my yarn in.

Sally said...

Oooo... what a fantastic giveaway. I'm saving vintage sheet pieces in an attempt to have enough to make a quilt... but I'm not particularly patient so I'd probably also use some for softies and kids clothes too!

You have certainly had good luck with that vintage sheet score!I've been on the lookout for them lately but no luck so far. I think they would be perfect for a spring time quilt....
